Thirty Youths Attend IBACA Pitching Clinic with SF Giants’ Brad Lesley

October 2009 - The International Baseball Academy of Central America (IBACA) sponsored a youth pitching clinic in Managua in October of 2009.  Coordinated in part by the American College, the clinic was led by former Major League Baseball player Brad Lesley. In addition to his role as one of the directors of IBACA, Lesley is a youth baseball pitching instructor for the San Francisco Giants.

Josias Quintero acted as translator for the 30 young players who attended the clinic to have Lesley critique their technique and instruct them on form. Notable attendees included US Ambassador to Nicaragua Robert Callahan, Mario Rappaccioli of American College and Dr. Carlos Reyes, former president of the Nicaraguan Baseball Federation (FENIBA). Local sports reporter Ivan Centeno covered the event for Channel 11.  IBACA expects to conduct more clinics as development progresses on the Academy’s permanent facility.
